this first bits a very brief description of my ex=hobby

......motocross.....
decided to join a club and start racing in mid 94,at the age of 26.(a bit late in life..).
brought a suzuki RM250 (1992), from vic eastwoods shop in swanley kent.
this bike was one of his son marks 2 race/practice bikes.
it was a very quick RM250, had engine work done, and nice ohlins rear shock, and different front tripple clamps on it, which made it turn like you wouldnt believe.
so this bike was way to much for a complete race beginer, but i liked it!!
in 98, i brought a brand new yamaha yz250.
this was an amazing bike.
as it came straight "out the crate" it didnt need any thing done to it to make it better.
all the MX magazine reviews from that year, said the yz was the best by a mile of the new bikes, as in suspension and engine etc etc were all spot on.
this was the bike i kept, until i packed in racing 2003.
in 98, i had a bit of an accident, which is nothing when you race ,and practice a lot.
however, i broke both my ankles, so things were a bit shit for 3 or 4 months, with the casts and crutches and physio...

when i came back to racing, i was better than previously,
at a meting in elsworth, cambridgeshire, the AMCA championships were there, and me being a lowley junior 250/open cc rider were the support event.
i actually won one of the races, from the start gate, to the finish flag!!!
so at the end of the day, i got a "second overall" trophy!!

the overall finish position is made up of your 3 races you do at the meeting.
you get so many points for where you finish in each race etc etc.
this meeting was a big event, with a big crowd, so in my race my name was coming out of the track PA system,   cant be bad!!
last year (03) was my last meeting.(oxshott surrey)
the first race i holeshot, but finished 5th(bearing in mind my class is 250cc and over)
2nd race holeshot again and finished 5th,
last race had a shit start due to the bloke on my left, losing it out of the gate, and literally crashing straight into my right arm, about 15 feet from the start gate!!
but i got all the way back up to 5th ,
so i was sure to get a trophy, as they went down to 5th position overal. to my friggin amazement, at the end of the meeting, i was tied on points with someone else..so how they decide the final position is:
if your tied after all 3 races, then your finish position in the last race decides..i was 5th,  he was 4th..!!!!!!!
hence the bastard got MY trophy!!!! that was my last race, after 9 years of racing which = loads of driving all over the country to meetings, and practice's.
i was really sad to seel my bike....dammit!!!!!!!!!
but the sale of this, went toward a new amp and guitar.
being married with kids, and self employed, motocross isnt the safest sport to do....etc etc...
